African Landscape Adventures Terms and Conditions
Welcome to African Landscape Adventures. These Terms & Conditions govern the use of our website and the booking, purchase and provision of travel services offered by African Landscape Adventures.
By making an enquiry, requesting a quotation, making a booking, paying a deposit or otherwise confirming a travel arrangement with African Landscape Adventures, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
We recommend that all travellers read these Terms & Conditions carefully before confirming a booking.

- Wildlife safaris
- Private and group safaris
- Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru trekking
- Zanzibar and beach holidays
- Honeymoon and special-occasion travel
- Airport transfers
- Accommodation arrangements
- Excursions and day trips
- Other travel-related services arranged for our guests
For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions, “African Landscape Adventures,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to African Landscape Adventures.
“Guest,” “traveller,” “client,” “you,” and “your” refer to the person making an enquiry, booking or travelling with us, together with all persons included in that booking.
Scope of These Terms
These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings and travel arrangements made directly with African Landscape Adventures through our website, email, telephone, WhatsApp, social media, in-person communication, quotation systems or other communication channels.
Individual quotations, invoices, booking confirmations and itineraries may contain additional terms specific to a particular trip. Where such terms differ from these general Terms & Conditions, the specific terms stated in the relevant quotation, invoice or booking confirmation will apply to that booking.
Enquiries, Quotations and Availability
All enquiries are subject to availability.
A quotation provided by African Landscape Adventures is normally based on the services, dates, number of travellers, accommodation category and other requirements specified at the time of enquiry.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing:
- A quotation is not a confirmed booking.
- Prices are subject to availability.
- Accommodation, camps, lodges, flights and other services are not guaranteed until confirmed.
- Prices may change before booking where suppliers, park authorities, airlines, accommodation providers or other service providers change their rates or applicable charges.
- A quotation may have an expiry date stated on the quotation.
African Landscape Adventures reserves the right to revise a quotation where there is a material change in supplier pricing, government charges, park fees, taxes, transport costs, exchange rates or other unavoidable costs before the booking is confirmed.
Booking Confirmation
A booking becomes confirmed when:
- The traveller accepts the quotation or proposed travel arrangements;
- African Landscape Adventures confirms availability; and
- The required payment has been received in accordance with the payment terms stated on the quotation or invoice.
A payment alone does not necessarily constitute confirmation if the required services have not yet been confirmed.
Once a booking is confirmed, the traveller will receive appropriate booking confirmation and/or travel documentation.
Prices and What Is Included
The total price of a trip will be stated in the applicable quotation or invoice.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, the price may include only the services expressly listed in the itinerary or quotation.
Typical inclusions may include:
- Accommodation as specified;
- Meals as specified;
- Safari vehicle and driver-guide services;
- Park and conservation fees where stated;
- Airport transfers where stated;
- Trekking services and crew where stated;
- Domestic flights where expressly included;
- Activities expressly listed in the itinerary; and
- Other services specifically identified as included.
Items not expressly stated as included should be considered excluded.
Guests are responsible for checking the inclusions and exclusions in their quotation before making payment.
Payment Terms
Payment requirements will be stated on the individual quotation or invoice.
Unless different payment terms have been agreed in writing, the applicable deposit and balance requirements stated on the booking documents will apply.
The balance must be paid by the deadline specified in the booking documents.
If the required balance is not received by the stated deadline, African Landscape Adventures may, subject to applicable law and the specific booking terms:
- Cancel the booking;
- Release accommodation or other services;
- Apply applicable cancellation charges;
- Recalculate the price if supplier rates have changed; or
- Require payment of additional costs necessary to reinstate the booking.
The payment deadline and consequences of late payment will be communicated to the traveller where applicable.
Payment Methods and Payment Processing Fees
African Landscape Adventures may accept payment through methods specified on the quotation or payment instructions, which may include bank transfer, card payment, online payment platforms or other approved payment methods.
Where a payment method involves a processing or transaction fee, any such fee will be communicated to the traveller before payment where applicable.
Where card or online payment fees are expressly stated in the quotation, the applicable fee will form part of the amount payable.
Travellers should retain proof of payment until their booking has been fully completed.
Currency and Exchange Rates
Unless otherwise stated, prices may be quoted in United States Dollars (USD).
Where payment is made in another currency, the amount received by African Landscape Adventures must be sufficient to settle the amount stated on the applicable invoice or payment instruction.
Any bank charges, intermediary-bank charges, currency conversion fees or other payment costs imposed by the traveller’s bank or payment provider may be the traveller’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
Cancellation by the Traveller
Cancellation requests must be submitted to African Landscape Adventures in writing.
Cancellation charges may apply depending on:
- The date the cancellation is received;
- The date travel is scheduled to begin;
- The services booked;
- Accommodation and supplier cancellation policies;
- Airline or flight conditions;
- Park or conservation authority charges;
- Trekking arrangements;
- Special events or peak-season arrangements; and
- Any non-refundable payments already made to suppliers.
The applicable cancellation and refund conditions will be communicated in the booking documentation.
Travellers should therefore read the Cancellation & Refund Policy and the specific cancellation terms attached to their booking before making payment.
Changes Requested by the Traveller
Requests to change a confirmed booking should be submitted as early as possible.
Changes may include:
- Travel dates;
- Number of travellers;
- Accommodation;
- Safari route;
- Safari duration;
- Trekking route;
- Flights;
- Activities; or
- Other travel arrangements.
African Landscape Adventures will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requested changes, but changes are subject to availability and may result in additional costs.
Any supplier cancellation charges, amendment fees, fare differences, park fee differences or other costs resulting from a requested change may be payable by the traveller.
Changes Made by African Landscape Adventures
African Landscape Adventures may make reasonable changes to an itinerary where necessary because of:
- Weather;
- Road conditions;
- Park or conservation authority requirements;
- Wildlife conditions;
- Safety considerations;
- Government regulations;
- Accommodation availability;
- Airline schedule changes;
- Supplier changes;
- Natural events;
- Operational circumstances; or
- Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where a material change is necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an appropriate alternative of comparable standard where possible.
Itinerary Flexibility
Safari and trekking itineraries operate in environments where conditions can change.
Safari sightings cannot be guaranteed. Wildlife is free-roaming and African Landscape Adventures cannot guarantee sightings of a particular animal, migration event, river crossing or other wildlife experience.
Similarly, weather, trail conditions, altitude, road conditions and other circumstances may affect trekking and safari schedules.
The itinerary provided to the traveller should therefore be regarded as a planned programme rather than a guarantee that every activity will occur exactly as described.
Accommodation
Accommodation is provided according to the category and properties stated in the quotation or itinerary.
Where a particular property becomes unavailable, African Landscape Adventures may arrange alternative accommodation of a similar or appropriate standard, subject to availability.
Where a guest requests an upgrade, the additional cost will normally be payable by the guest.
Accommodation services are also subject to the individual property’s own rules and conditions.
Flights and Air Travel
Where flights are included or arranged, flight schedules, fares, baggage allowances and airline conditions are determined by the relevant airline.
African Landscape Adventures is not responsible for airline delays, cancellations, missed connections, baggage delays or other events caused by the airline.
Where a flight disruption affects the itinerary, we will make reasonable efforts to assist the traveller in rearranging affected services. Any additional costs imposed by the airline, accommodation provider or other supplier may be payable by the traveller where applicable.
Travellers are responsible for ensuring that their passport, visa and other travel documents meet airline and immigration requirements.
Passports, Visas and Entry Requirements
Travellers are responsible for ensuring that they have valid:
- Passports;
- Visas where required;
- Travel permits;
- Vaccination or health documentation where required;
- Travel insurance; and
- Any other documents required for their nationality and travel arrangements.
African Landscape Adventures may provide general information about entry requirements, but travellers should verify the current requirements with the relevant Tanzanian authorities, embassy, consulate, airline or other competent authority before travelling.
African Landscape Adventures is not responsible for losses arising from a traveller’s failure to obtain required documentation.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for every traveller and may be required for certain travel arrangements.
Travel insurance should, where appropriate, cover:
- Medical expenses;
- Emergency evacuation;
- Trekking and high-altitude activities;
- Trip cancellation;
- Trip interruption;
- Delays;
- Lost, stolen or damaged baggage;
- Personal liability; and
- Other risks relevant to the traveller’s circumstances.
Travellers are responsible for checking that their insurance policy specifically covers the activities they intend to undertake.
Health, Fitness and Medical Conditions
Travellers are responsible for informing African Landscape Adventures of any condition, limitation, allergy, dietary requirement or other circumstance that may reasonably affect their ability to participate safely in the planned activities.
Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru and other trekking activities involve physical exertion and altitude.
Travellers should seek appropriate medical advice before undertaking demanding physical activities or high-altitude trekking.
African Landscape Adventures may refuse or modify participation in an activity where our guides or staff reasonably consider that continuing would create a significant safety risk.
Kilimanjaro and Mountain Trekking
Mountain trekking involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Altitude-related illness;
- Weather changes;
- Cold temperatures;
- Rain;
- Slippery or uneven terrain;
- Rockfall;
- Fatigue;
- Dehydration;
- Injury;
- Evacuation;
- Changes in trail conditions; and
- Other risks associated with mountain environments.
No particular summit success rate is guaranteed.
The guide’s safety instructions must be followed at all times.
The guide or mountain crew may recommend that a traveller descend, rest or discontinue the climb where this is considered necessary for safety.
Any additional costs associated with evacuation, medical treatment, additional accommodation, transport or other services may be the responsibility of the traveller unless covered by insurance or otherwise agreed.
Safari Safety
Guests must follow the instructions of their professional driver-guide and camp or lodge staff.
Guests must not:
- Leave the vehicle in restricted areas without permission;

- Feed wildlife;
- Harass wildlife;
- Make unnecessary noise around wildlife;
- Disobey safety instructions;
- Handle dangerous animals or wildlife; or

Guests should avoid littering, damaging natural resources, disturbing wildlife or engaging in behaviour that negatively affects local communities or protected areas.
All guests must comply with applicable rules of national parks, conservation areas, wildlife authorities and other protected areas.
Third-Party Suppliers
Certain services may be provided by independent third parties, including:
- Airlines;
- Hotels;
- Lodges;
- Camps;
- National park authorities;
- Conservation authorities;
- Boat operators;
- Activity providers;
- Local service providers; and
- Other travel suppliers.
Where third-party services are included in a booking, their own terms, conditions and operational requirements may also apply.
African Landscape Adventures will use reasonable care in selecting and coordinating service providers but cannot control the acts, omissions, delays or operational decisions of independent third parties.
Events Beyond Our Control
African Landscape Adventures will not be responsible for failure or delay in performing services where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include:
- Extreme weather;
- Natural disasters;
- Flooding;
- Fire;
- Epidemics or pandemics;
- Government restrictions;
- Political disturbances;
- Civil unrest;
- War or terrorism;
- Road closures;
- Strikes;
- Airline disruptions;

- Other events that could not reasonably have been prevented or avoided.
Where such circumstances occur, African Landscape Adventures will make reasonable efforts to assist the traveller and, where possible, arrange alternative services.
Any refunds or additional costs will depend on the terms applicable to the affected suppliers and services.
Liability
African Landscape Adventures will provide the travel services with reasonable care and in accordance with applicable laws and the confirmed booking arrangements.
However, travel and adventure activities involve inherent risks, and African Landscape Adventures cannot guarantee that travel will be completely free from delay, disruption, accident, injury, loss or other unforeseen circumstances.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under applicable Tanzanian law.
Where African Landscape Adventures is not the direct provider of a particular service, responsibility for that service may also be governed by the terms and conditions of the relevant third-party provider.
Personal Belongings
Guests are responsible for their personal belongings throughout their journey.
African Landscape Adventures recommends that travellers keep valuable items secure and avoid carrying unnecessary valuables.
Travellers should obtain appropriate travel insurance for baggage, valuables and personal belongings.
African Landscape Adventures is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings except where liability arises under applicable law.
Photographs and Media
African Landscape Adventures may take photographs or videos during tours for operational, promotional or marketing purposes.
We will respect reasonable requests from guests who do not wish to appear in promotional material.
Where identifiable guest images are intended for promotional use in circumstances requiring specific consent under applicable law, appropriate consent will be obtained.
Guests must also respect the privacy and cultural rights of other travellers, guides and local communities.

Complaints

Complaints that cannot be resolved during the trip should be submitted to African Landscape Adventures in writing as soon as reasonably practicable after completion of the trip.
We will review complaints fairly and make reasonable efforts to resolve legitimate concerns.
