Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be welcomed by your private transfer representative and driven to Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge. Set within a working coffee plantation on the outskirts of Arusha, the lodge offers a peaceful and refined setting in which to settle in after your international journey.

Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, enjoying the lodge’s tranquil gardens and relaxed atmosphere. Your safari guide will meet you for a briefing and review the journey ahead, including the route, daily activities and practical arrangements.

Day 02

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, meet your private safari guide and travel towards Tarangire National Park. As you enter the park, the landscape opens into a striking combination of golden grasslands, seasonal swamps and ancient baobab trees. Tarangire is particularly renowned for its elephant populations, and its river system attracts wildlife throughout the year, especially during the dry season.

Enjoy a leisurely game drive, looking for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes and a variety of antelope. The park is also home to predators such as lions and leopards. Pause for a picnic lunch in a designated area before continuing your exploration. In the late afternoon, head to Lemala Mpingo Ridge, set high above the Tarangire landscape, for an elegant lodge experience and sweeping views.

Day 03

Tarangire Morning Safari to the Ngorongoro Highlands

Begin the day with an early breakfast before setting out for a morning game drive in Tarangire. Your guide will select the areas to explore according to recent sightings and conditions in the park.

After the game drive, leave Tarangire and travel towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at your lodge in time to relax and enjoy the surroundings before dinner.

Day 04

Ngorongoro Crater – A Remarkable Wildlife Sanctuary

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an extensive game drive on the crater floor. The crater’s grasslands, woodland, freshwater pools and soda lake create habitats for many different species.

Day 05

Ngorongoro Highlands to Central Serengeti

After breakfast, depart the Ngorongoro Highlands and continue towards Serengeti National Park. Wildlife viewing begins along the journey, with opportunities to see grazing herds and the animals that inhabit this remarkable ecosystem.

Continue into the Central Serengeti, a region known for its year-round wildlife, open grasslands and granite kopjes. Depending on the season and recent wildlife movements, you may encounter wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, elephants and a variety of predators. Day 06

Full-Day Exploration of Central Serengeti

Today is dedicated to discovering the Central Serengeti at a relaxed safari pace. Set out after breakfast with your guide to explore the plains, river valleys and rocky kopjes that make this area one of Tanzania’s most rewarding wildlife destinations. The region supports resident populations of lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and many other species.

Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch in the bush, or return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon game drive, depending on your preferences and wildlife conditions. Your guide will adapt the day to recent sightings and the season. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon to relax and enjoy your final evening in the Serengeti.

Day 07

Serengeti Morning at Leisure and Fly Out

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before transferring to the designated Serengeti airstrip for your scheduled light-aircraft flight. Depending on the flight departure time, there may be an opportunity for a short morning game drive before leaving the park. From the air, take in a final perspective of the vast Serengeti plains as you continue to your onward destination.

Your safari concludes with unforgettable memories of Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. Flight routing, airstrip selection, baggage limits and onward connections will be confirmed according to the final lodge location and airline schedule.

Best Time to Visit

Tanzania’s northern safari circuit offers rewarding wildlife viewing throughout the year. The drier months, generally from June to October, often provide excellent game-viewing conditions as wildlife gathers around remaining water sources. The green season, broadly from November to May, brings lush scenery, dramatic skies and excellent birdwatching, with seasonal rainfall influencing road and travel conditions. Wildlife movements vary naturally, so the best travel dates depend on the guests’ interests and preferred experience.
