Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at the airport, a representative from African Landscape Adventures will greet you and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha. Settle in and relax after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy the lodge surroundings and receive a briefing about the safari route, activities and arrangements for the days ahead.

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, meet your safari guide and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its ancient baobab trees, large elephant herds and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a game drive through the park's savannah, woodlands and areas around the Tarangire River, where animals gather, particularly during the dry season.

Look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes and a variety of antelope. With luck, you may also spot lions or leopards. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the safari before continuing your wildlife exploration. Later, leave the park and travel towards the Lake Manyara area for your overnight stay.

Karatu Area to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park, travelling through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy views of the highlands before the landscape opens into the vast grasslands for which the Serengeti is famous.

Continue into the park and enjoy wildlife viewing along the route to your camp. The Serengeti is renowned for its large herds of grazing animals and its predators, including lions, cheetahs and leopards. Depending on the season and wildlife movements, you may encounter zebras, wildebeest, elephants and many other species. Arrive at camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti. After breakfast, set out with your guide for a day of wildlife viewing across the open plains and rocky kopjes. The park supports an extraordinary range of wildlife, including impala, buffalo, giraffes, elephants, hippos and numerous bird species.

Search for predators such as lions and cheetahs, while keeping an eye out for leopards in suitable habitats. You can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives with lunch back at camp, or take a full-day drive with a picnic lunch in the park. Your guide will choose suitable areas based on wildlife movements and seasonal conditions. Return to camp in the evening.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, depart the Serengeti and travel towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy the changing scenery as you leave the plains and approach the dramatic crater highlands.

Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive across its grasslands, acacia woodland and wetlands. The crater provides habitat for a remarkable variety of wildlife, including zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, buffaloes and lions. With luck, you may also see the endangered black rhinoceros. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the excursion before ascending to your camp in the Ngorongoro area for the evening.

Lake Manyara National Park and Departure

After breakfast, travel to Lake Manyara National Park, the final destination on your safari. Located beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park features groundwater forest, open grassland and a shallow alkaline lake that attracts diverse birdlife.

Enjoy a game drive in search of elephants, baboons, giraffes, buffaloes and a variety of birds. Lake Manyara is also known for its tree-climbing lions, although sightings are not guaranteed. After your wildlife experience and picnic lunch, begin the transfer to your chosen drop-off point in Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport, according to your onward travel arrangements.

Your six-day Tanzania safari concludes with memories of the country's beautiful landscapes and extraordinary wildlife.
