After registration and obtaining permits, you’ll begin your trek through the rainforest, where tropical showers are common, so bringing raincoats and extra clothes is recommended. The day’s goal is Mandara Hut (2,720 m/8,922 ft), where the support team will set up your accommodations and prepare lunch. The route offers comfortable huts for overnight stays, perfect for those who prefer them over tents. Since this is your first day at altitude, it’s important to stay hydrated, watch for signs of altitude sickness, and reach out to your guide if needed.
