Day 01

Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by a representative from African Landscape Adventures and transferred to Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge. Located among lush coffee plantations, the lodge offers a peaceful introduction to Tanzania and a comfortable place to unwind after your international journey. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at the lodge and enjoy its tranquil surroundings. Your safari guide can also provide a briefing about the journey, wildlife viewing and practical arrangements for the days ahead.

Day 02

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, meet your private safari guide and travel towards Tarangire National Park, celebrated for its ancient baobab trees, open savannah and impressive elephant population. Once inside the park, begin your game drive through landscapes shaped by seasonal water sources and the Tarangire River. Watch for elephants moving through the woodland, giraffes browsing acacia trees, zebras grazing across open clearings and a variety of antelope and bird species. Your guide will help you understand the park's wildlife and seasonal ecology. In the afternoon, continue to Lemala Mpingo Ridge, where elevated views across the surrounding wilderness provide a memorable setting for your first safari evening.

Day 03

Tarangire National Park – Full-Day Safari

Wake to the sounds of the African wilderness and enjoy another day exploring Tarangire National Park. Look for elephants gathering around water sources, giraffes moving through the acacia woodland and herds of zebra and wildebeest crossing the plains. Tarangire is also known for its birdlife and striking baobab landscapes, offering excellent opportunities for photography. Enjoy a picnic lunch during your safari before continuing your exploration through the afternoon. Later, return to Lemala Mpingo Ridge for dinner and a relaxing evening surrounded by nature.

Day 04

Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, depart Tarangire and travel towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area through changing landscapes and the scenic Tanzanian highlands. Descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a memorable game drive on the crater floor. This remarkable ecosystem supports a high concentration of wildlife, including zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, hippos and numerous predators. With luck, you may also encounter the endangered black rhinoceros. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site before continuing your exploration. Later, ascend from the crater and continue to Lemala Ngorongoro Camp, where the highland setting provides a peaceful retreat after an exciting day.

Day 05

Ngorongoro Highlands to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey towards Serengeti National Park, travelling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and its scenic highlands. As the landscape opens into vast grasslands, you will begin to appreciate the scale of the Serengeti ecosystem. Depending on the season, the plains may be dotted with wildebeest and zebra herds, while giraffes, antelope and other wildlife can be spotted along the route. Your guide will make suitable stops for wildlife viewing and photography. Continue into the Serengeti for an afternoon game drive, exploring the area according to current wildlife movements and road conditions, before arriving at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge.

Day 06

Serengeti National Park – Full-Day Safari

Today is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti, one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife destinations. After breakfast, set out with your guide for a full-day game drive across the plains, woodlands and riverine habitats. The Serengeti is home to a remarkable range of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hippos, zebras, wildebeest and numerous bird species. It is also renowned for its predators, particularly lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas. The location of the Great Migration changes throughout the year, so your guide will choose the most suitable areas based on the season and recent wildlife movements. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the day before returning to Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge for dinner and an evening in the wilderness.

Day 07

Serengeti to Zanzibar – Fly-Out to the Island

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before transferring to the designated airstrip for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar. This scenic flight provides a convenient transition from Tanzania's wildlife-rich interior to the tropical Indian Ocean coast. Upon arrival at Zanzibar's airport, meet your transfer driver and travel to Meliá Zanzibar. As you settle into the resort, enjoy the contrast between the vast safari landscapes and the island's tropical surroundings. Depending on your arrival time, the remainder of the day can be spent relaxing, enjoying the resort facilities or taking in the ocean views.

Spend time by the beach, enjoy the resort's facilities or simply take in the tropical scenery. Depending on your interests and the conditions at sea, optional activities such as snorkelling, kayaking or other water-based experiences may be arranged. You can also choose to spend the entire day relaxing at the resort. Enjoy the evening at leisure and prepare for more island experiences in the days ahead.

Ocean Adventures & Island Experiences

Today is yours to enjoy Zanzibar's beautiful marine environment and coastal scenery. Depending on the location and sea conditions, you may explore coral reefs and observe colourful tropical marine life. Other experiences, such as a traditional dhow cruise, may also be available. Activities should be selected according to your interests, weather conditions and operator availability. Alternatively, return to the resort for a quiet day of swimming, relaxation and time beside the ocean.

Zanzibar – Beach Escape & Leisure

Day 12

Stone Town Cultural Experience

After breakfast, enjoy an optional guided visit to Stone Town, Zanzibar's historic heart and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander through narrow streets lined with intricately carved doors, historic buildings and traditional Swahili architecture. Discover the island's layered history, shaped by African, Arab, Indian and European influences, and visit local markets where spices, textiles, crafts and souvenirs reflect Zanzibar's rich cultural traditions. Your guide can help you appreciate the stories behind the town's landmarks and everyday life. After the excursion, return to Meliá Zanzibar for your final evening on the island. A sunset dhow cruise can also be arranged if time and conditions allow.

Tarangire can be especially rewarding during the dry season, when wildlife often gathers near available water sources. Zanzibar offers beach holidays throughout the year, although rainfall, wind and ocean conditions vary by season.
